Legendary TV host Bruce Forsyth will be back for the seventh series of the dance show Strictly Come Dancing. It had been rumoured that the 81-year-old presenter would not be returning to the show following reports that BBC's top talent were to be subjected to swingeing salary cuts. The corporation's director general Mark Thompson announced last month that highly-paid stars' salaries were to be slashed. Reports state that Brucie will be taking a pay cut for the next series, taking his salary of around £660,000 down to £500,000. A source close to the star told newspapers, "Bruce loves Strictly. We haven't signed a contract yet, but we hope to have things sorted within the next two weeks." They added, "Can you imagine watching Strictly without Bruce? It would be almost unthinkable." Bruce Forsyth's co-host Tess Daly has already signed up to Strictly for the next two years with a reported six-figure deal. Earlier this week, Strictly's head judge Len Goodman told BBC Radio Ulster that he would be returning to the BBC One show but also expected that his salary would be subject to a cut. "I think we'll probably be asked to take a pay cut which I understand, we are in the middle of a recession," he told the radio show. Goodman's fellow judge Arlene Phillips will not be returning for the new series. Phillips' seat on the judging panel is rumoured to be filled by former Strictly winner Alesha Dixon, who would join Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood. Celebrities rumoured to be taking part in the new series of Strictly Come Dancing include Prince William's girlfriend Kate Middleton, boxer Joe Calzaghe, football pundit Teddy Sheringham, TV presenter Richard Madeley and former X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne. Series seven of Strictly Come Dancing will be shown no BBC One in the autumn. Source
