Who gets the most fan mail on Strictly?

Everything you need to know about Strictly

NAUGHTY Bruno Tonioli got caught having a cheeky ciggie in his dressing room last year and was fined. He's also been spotted flouting the smoking ban this year but has yet to be busted...

KAREN Hardy returned for the current series only after producers agreed she wouldn't have to dance with Brendan Cole any more. They fell out after he changed his mind about partnering her for the first Eurovision Dance Contest. He chose to dance one last time with ex-fiancee Camilla Dallerup. This series Brendan has partnered newcomer Hayley Holt while Karen has been dancing with Matthew Cutler.

HEAD judge Len Goodman gets the most - and sauciest - fan mail. He is regularly propositioned by lovestruck female viewers but remains devoted to his partner Sue.

EVERY Friday night it's a fight to get into the spray tan machine, which is available for just one hour. The celebs queue up to get bronzed.

ANTON du Beke was privately very worried about Tess's performance on Children in Need. He said at one point she looked like an octopus falling out of a tree. She turned in a winning routine.

WHEN Anton and Bruce Forsyth performed their Me and My Shadow song and dance together, Anton struggled to pick up the moves while octogenarian Bruce sailed through rehearsals without a hitch.

OTHER celebs hoping to waltz on to Strictly include Location, Location, Location's Kirstie Allsopp and Destiny's Child star Kelly Rowland (below). Kelly was at the show when Beyonce appeared and enjoyed it so much she told producers she'd love to do the next series. She had to be virtually dragged out of the studio.

HUNKY Tom Chambers' relationship with Camilla is reward based. The Danish dancer has discovered that the Holby City star responds well to receiving chocolate treats for mastering his steps.

REFORMEDbad boy Brendan has a routine before he dances with partner Lisa Snowdon. He gets into the zone by jogging on the spot and punching the air.

FORMER Strictly Come Dancing runner up Matt Dawson has been goading fellow rugby star Austin Healey by text message. He's getting his own back for the merciless ribbing he received from Austin during series four.

BRUCE isn't much of a diva when it comes to dressing room demands. He likes a packet of plain digestive biscuits and a couple of bottles of still water.

AUSTIN can't keep his hands off his Strictly co-stars. But it's not the girls he gets frisky with - it's James Jordan and the other male pro dancers. There's a lot of macho play-fighting backstage.

THERE was disruption this year when the show had to employ a whole new make-up and hair crew. Strictly head honchos couldn't settle on a fee with the team which had done the show for the past five series.

BOISTEROUS Austin rugbyt ackled the warm-up guy in front of the studio audience one Saturday night. Producers are terrified the player doesn't know his own strength and may harm himself or one of the other dancers.

BACK in series four, a female celeb hoofer bawled at one of the show's runners, reducing her to tears, for bringing her the wrong type of sandwich for lunch.

KIND-hearted Erin Boag has been babysitting for Austin's kids so he can spend some quality time with his wife Louise.

BRUCIE is incredibly superstitious. If someone whistles in his dressing room, they have to go outside, turn around three times, swear (to themselves) and knock on the door to come back in.

ANT McPartlin's wife Lisa Armstrong is this year's chief hair and make up designer.

THE Chuckle Brothers have enquired about taking part but have, so far, been politely turned down.

LISA is apparently the one who wants to flash the most flesh and is always asking for the skirts to be shorter and the tops to be lower.

LISA might be denying the romance with Brian Fortuna. But we have it on good authority that there is definitely some chemistry between the two of them. Apparently Brian is very sweet on Lisa.

SINCE Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace split up, they barely speak unless it's about dancing. And Vincent can't even be in the same room as love rival Matt Di Angelo.

RUMOURS that Darren Bennett wears a hair piece refuse to go away. It provokes amusement and discussion among cast and crew every year.

Of all the judges it is Bruno who gets the most nervous before the live show.

THE Saturday costume team has had to be expanded as the celebs (and the dancers) have become more demanding about alterations.

AUSTIN and his family will be going to Erin's wedding next summer.

DARREN is known to be a bit of a moaner. He is nicknamed Old Ma Bennett by the rest of the team

BRUCE has his own hair and make up person to help with his, er, toupee.

TONIGHT the celebs will dance twice. This means two outfits each and very quick changes. The dresses are based on a leotard and aren't easy to get into, so there may be wardrobe malfunctions as they rush to get ready.

THE show has to organise refittings every Friday because the girls get thinner and thinner each week.

THERE are 10 full-time costume makers and two people sewing - they make last-minute adjustments after the dress rehearsals.

RACHEL Stevens and Lisa's boobs cause the biggest headaches. The straps are changed over and over again to ensure everything is held in tightly.

THE boys are shedding pounds too. Their trousers are taken in every week - Austin is the thinnest he's been since he was 17.

THE whole team get together on Friday to eat cakes that are made by the wife of one of the cameramen. Sometimes she does special ones with an icing B and T on them for Bruce and Tess.

CHEF Gary Rhodes was gutted to be kicked off in week three. But he has carried on dancing with ballroom lessons from his professional partner Karen.

BRUNO and Len joke that they are like an old married couple. After flying back and forth to LA to film Dancing With The Stars during the week, they've been living in each others' pockets for months.

LEN said sorry to Craig Revel Horwood in the bar last week following his on-screen out burst. He blamed his jet lag and Craig graciously accepted his apology.

CRAIG is usually the last judge standing at the bar when the show is finished.

TOM has a constant supply of jellybeans. The sugar consumption may explain his hyperactivity.

AFTER the show the dancers and celebs tend to go clubbing where they carry on the dancing until they drop in the early hours.

THE glitter spray gets everywhere. The crew go home every week inadvertently sparkling.

CHRISTINE Bleakley is the most nervous of the celebs before the show and chatters endlessly.

ARLENE Phillips NEVER called John Sergeant the "dancing pig". The nickname was coined by a posh broadsheet paper and somehow attributed to her.

ALL four judges go for anannual Christmas meal at a top London restaurant and sink copious amounts of expensive wine.

AUSTIN has spent a couple of nights in a hotel near his home in order to get a good night's sleep away from his baby twin daughters.

SHOW producers have banned catsuits since Ola Jordan's unforgettable snakeskin number earlier this series. All the girls wanted one after seeing how many column inches it attracted. A ban was the only fair way to settle it.

HEATHER Small had her shoes made from Teflon because as a strict vegan she refused to wear the leather ones.

ANT and Dec are secret Strictly fans. They were spotted in the audience a few weeks ago but made sure they were never on camera.

ZARA Phillips was at the show with boyfriend Mike Tindall last week supporting Austin. There were no royal airs and graces and she happily sat in the crowd with the masses.

THE celebs are going through plasters and ointment at a rate of knots as they suffer painful blisters due to hours of rehearsing their routines.

Strictly Come Dancing, BBC1, tonight 6.05pm and tomorrow 8.15pm.
