Vain Craig wants more camera close-ups

Rivalry on Strictly has spread to the judges - with Craig Revel Horwood and Len Goodman treading on each other's toes.

Diva Craig threw a hissy fit because he feels Len is milking his role as head judge - and HE should be getting more camera close-ups.

A show source said: "Craig has a real bee in his bonnet.

"As far as he is concerned he knows more about ballroom than Len and doesn't like playing second fiddle to him."

Craig also feels Len is too nice to the contestants and is too generous with his scores.

Meanwhile, Len thinks Craig is too nasty to the dancers.

Len recently said: "Craig calls me Lenny Goody Goodman because I try to say something nice first. But I couldn't do it any other way. I don't like being nasty just for the sake of it. I'm not there to tell them they've got arms like a gorilla and a face like a slapped a***.

"If I'm going to say something negative, I like to start with a positive.

"So I'll tell them it was a brave attempt or the hold was very good. Then Ill say, 'Unfortunately..' "OK, some of the contestants are rubbish. But I always say something like, 'you have very nice posture but unfortunately your hip work needs action', rather than, 'What a lump'."

Lee insists he will not hold his tongue. He said: "If someone's dance is bad, I'm going to tell them."

Last week Len, 64, was furious with Craig, 41, for being rude to the male celebs.

He called swimmer Mark Foster, 38, "dull" and Phil Daniels, 49, "flat-footed" - and said the performance of chef Gary Rhodes, 48, was "vile".

Fed-up Len shouted at him: "Lighten up. This is their firstever dance for us."

Off-screen the pair are said to be barely speaking.

The source said: "The two men are very different in their approaches to judging and it is causing friction.

"And because he sits on the end of the judging panel, Craig thinks he isn't in the spotlight enough. Len thinks that is just ridiculous.

"Craig is vain while Len is really down-to-earth.
