DWTS 7 - Show 5 Results Recap
Wednesday, 15 October 2008 08:20
We didn't have a tremendously shocking elimination on tonight's Dancing with the Stars results show, but it was actually pretty entertaining, nonetheless, as results shows go.

The musical guest was Ne-Yo, and the guest dance performance was by the Spanish sibling sensation known as Los Vivancos, who might be my new favorite thing. But best of all, we had the return of the Ballroom Kids competition. Two young teams in the 11 and under category performed: Jessica and Mitchell danced a cha cha cha, and Hannah and Kirill danced a samba. The judges picked the latter team to come back and compete in the finals.

Now, onto the rest of the evening

Combining the last two sets of judges' scores, the Dancing with the Stars leaderboard is as follows:

Brooke and Derek - 54

Lance and Lacey - 48

Warren and Kym - 47

Susan and Tony - 45

Cody and Julianne - 44

Maurice and Cheryl - 44

Toni and Alec - 44

Cloris and Corky - 38

Rocco and Karina -38

For the first time this season on Dancing with the Stars, the identity of the bottom two couples was revealed tonight. To nobody's surprise, the bottom two celebrities were Cloris and Rocco.

Cloris Leachman

I think it's fair to say that Cloris is a very bad dancer. She's pretty bad, actually. But she's got something that none of the other competitors really has: a wacky, raunchy sense of humor and the lack of any self-consciousness whatsoever. She really is a crowd pleaser. Not only that, but she also did tremendously improve this week, performing a respectable tango that actually had many elements of dance to it. She'll be sticking around the competition for at least another week, for sure.

Rocco DiSpirito

Rocco might take the cake as the nicest guy in the competition this year because he is just so gosh-darn earnest and thoughtful and well-mannered. But etiquette ain't gonna win a dance competition. Rocco's downfall was that he lacks even the slightest big of musicality and attitude. He tries and tries and tries SO HARD, but week after week, all we've seen of him has been awkwardness and nervousness. Sadly, tonight, he was sent home, leaving only eight remaining teams left to battle it out for the trophy. Next week, four new styles of dance will be introduced to Dancing with the Stars, so don't forget to tune in!
