Only 6 Nancys left. Did they impress the panel tonight?

It's hard to believe, but we're now down to only six Nancys! The competition has stepped up and gear, and we don't know how much more drama or excitement we can take!

Kicking off the show with a bang, our remaining Nancys gave a 'bootifuwl' rendition of 'It's a Fine life' from Oliver!

And with no further ado, it was time for this week's solo performances to begin. First up was Jessie, singing 'Fighter'. But did she fight hard enough to secure her place in the competition?

John wasn't impressed. 'That was very bad diction and very unclear. Your Irish lilt took over.' Denise agreed,' you did shout quite a lot. It was quite painful on the ears.' Barry liked what he saw, adding 'I don't mind the lilt - Nancy could easily have been Irish.' And Andrew's final word was, 'you tried your very best, but that song wasn't for you.'

Next up was Niamh, singing the Cindi Lauper classic, 'True Colours'. So did she show her true colours to the panel tonight?

Barry was unsure, saying, 'it's hard to imagine you saying you'll put your mark on Bill Sykes.' But John was quick to disagree, adding 'this girl has aggression, she could do it. Niamh is not ready to leave.' Denise agreed with John,' like Celine Dion, you are slight, but you are very powerhouse. You could still be Nancy.' Andrew concluded, 'you showed you've got inner steel. This may not be for you, but you're going to go such a long way.'

Ashley was next to take the stage, singing 'I Say a Little Prayer'. Did her praying pay off tonight?

Denise said, 'I liked your vocal, it was lovely, but your performance was very cruise ship.' Barry added, 'I've really warmed to you, but it did feel a bit casual.' John wasn't over impressed either, adding, 'It was a little cheesy for me. Remember: Less is more.' And Andrew was disappointed, adding, 'you didn't connect with the words remotely tonight.'

Next it was time to catch up with the Olivers, and see how they got on with their mission this week. And it was revealed that Laurence is the next Oliver through to the semi-final. They then wowed us with a fantastic rendition of 'Give A Little Love' from Bugsy Malone.

And then it was back to the Nancys, with Samantha taking to the stage with Destiny Child's 'Survivor'. So did she wow the panel?

John could only say, 'you have the stamina for 8 shows a week, that's it!' Barry was impressed, adding, 'you're a prodigy. And it's very difficult to perform in high heels, I know!' Denise had a confession to make, 'I owe you an apology because I questioned putting you through to Nancy School.' And Andrew liked what he saw, adding, 'you're a very talented girl who's listened to everything we say. I'm very proud.'

Jodie was next in line, singing 'If I Aint Got You'. Did she do enough to impress the panel this week?

Denise liked what she saw, 'you definitely have the voice for Nancy, perfect for the West End.' And John loved it too, 'a fantastic performance. You deserve to be in the quarter finals.' Barry was happy too, adding, 'lovely, beautiful. You definitely must be a finalist.' But Andrew had a question, 'What happens when you're choreographed and you have to move in a song? Jodie was quick to reply, 'Oh, I can move!'

And the last solo performer tonight was Rachel, singing 'You've Got A Friend'. Did she bring it back after surviving last week's sing-off?

Denise wasn't impressed, 'you are the full package, but I wasn't blown away tonight.' John begged to differ, saying, 'I think the public were wrong last week, you deserve to be in the quarter finals.' But Barry wasn't so sure, saying, 'I did feel somehow that you were not feeling the emotion, you were impersonating it.' And Andrew was concerned, adding 'I kept telling you last week to communicate with the words, but you didn't. You have to tell a story.'

All of the solos had been sung, but the show wasn't over yet! This week we were treated to two extra group performances, with the final six singing in trios.

First up were Jessie, Niamh and Samantha singing 'Candyman'. Did their performance sweeten the panel?

And then Ashley, Jodie and Rachel took to the stage to sing the Shania Twain anthem, 'Man I Feel Like a Woman.' So were the panel feeling their performance?

Was the Lord impressed? 'What fun!' he said. 'Both groups were fabulous.'

Cor blimey, what a night! Don't forget to tune in tomorrow at 7.35pm to see which Nancy will be next to leave the competition.
