The premiere of ABC's new dance series Dance War might not have been the ratings hit that she probably wanted, but star Carrie Ann Inaba still has had plenty to celebrate recently.
The former Fly Girl and current Dancing with the Stars judge just had a milestone birthday – she's 40-years-old, if you can believe it – and is thinking about taking a big personal step.
She celebrated her birthday twice, once on January 5 with an intimate dinner with her boyfriend, 25-year-old dancer Artem Chigvintsev, and another bigger party on January 7 with friends.
Her dinner with Artem was a very special evening, she says. “"He had an amazing dinner planned for us at the Peninsula [Beverly Hills Hotel] and it was the most fabulous setup…They set the table; we had a private room; we had the most amazing food and wine. It was just a really intimate evening with my dearest friend.”
Her second party was with friends at Les Deux in Hollywood. The festivities served double duty: both birthday party and celebration of the start of Dance War. The event was also attended by Dancing with the Stars alum Mario Lopez.
Perhaps the big birthday got her thinking, or simply that, after two years with Artem, they are ready to consider taking the next step, but she's got a baby on the mind, saying, “I would love to have a show like [Dance War] and to have a child in one year…It would be too much to ask for. But it would be amazing. But, you know, you have to wait for God to bless you."
In the meantime, though, Carrie Ann told OK! magazine she feels like a “mom” to the 14 young entertaining she's training on Dance War, saying, “I'm so proud of these truly talented kids.”
