Strictly celebs spice up their training with a bit of festive cheer

To help them get in the mood for the Christmas Special, shown on Christmas Day, a little bird tells us that the quarter finalists made the most of any props they could get their hands on to get them into the festive spirit.

Alesha and Matt donned Christmas hats and tinsel to go over their Christmas routine, but Matt seemed to have spent more time pretending to be Santa, while Alesha took on the role of Rudolph. The two also had some fun practising some comedy lifts wrapped in tinsel.

Gethin and Camilla also let themselves get caught up in the silly season. Gethin dressed as a blue Santa Claus for one training session and as the morning progressed he gradually transferred his costume to Camilla.

Gethin also peppered the session with festive facts, including the names of Santa's reindeer and the origins of the red and white costume made so famous by St. Nicholas.

Elsewhere, Mark and Karen made sure they remained in the festive spirit as they got back into training together for the first time in a year. They were in particularly high spirits in one training session with Karen tying tinsel round her waist and singing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Mark, however, was unsure and thought she looked more like a Christmas Bambi.

We can't wait for the Christmas Special. Let's just hope our dancers ditch their comedy costumes for some show-stopping shimmery numbers. Failing that, we'd settle for Gethin's see-through shirt a second time round!
