Men are better than women at most sports and even in the ones we're worse at, we still take the plaudits.

Fred Astaire took all the credit when Ginger Rogers performed the exact same moves as him, only backwards and in high heels.

Women dance because they love to dance, men dance merely as a means of sleeping with women. Of course women have the last laugh by marrying them.

Though we're meant to be aghast, it wasn't actually a huge surprise to see two of the best performers in Gabby Logan and Penny Lancaster finish bottom of the public vote in Strictly Come Dancing.

As a rule, women don't like to see better-looking women doing well for themselves.

Kate Garraway may well be a lousy dancer - indeed she's so bad some people believe she is better at presenting - but at least she ain't seen as a threat in the way Penny and Gabby are.

That's why she's still in the competition.

Gabby was 33-1 to get the boot and bookies say they hardly took a penny for her.
