Sexy Kelly Brook has been paired up with heartbreaker Brendan Cole for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Rod Stewart’s wife Penny Lancaster, actress Stephanie Beacham and football legend John Barnes will also be competing in the BBC1 show which attracted more than 12 million viewers last year.

TV presenter Kelly, who is engaged to Hollywood star Billy Zane, was delighted to be teamed up with professional dancer Cole who split up with his fiancé, dancer Camilla Dallerup, after he got “too close” to newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky during the first series.

“He seemed quite shy on the first day,” said Kelly. “So far so good. He hasn't really played up too much. He hasn't met Billy yet, we'll have to wait and see.”

Also in the starting line up will be former EastEnders star Leiticia Dean, Mis-Teeq singer Alesha Dixon and GMTV presenter Kate Garraway.

Gabby and Kenny Logan will be the first husband-and-wife pairing. The sports presenter and her ex-rugby hero husband are competing together against the pairings of celebrities and professional dancers.

Former Coronation Street killer Richard Hillman – actor Brian Capron – is also taking part with Matt di Angelo, who plays Deano Wicks in EastEnders, Blue Peter presenter Gethin Jones, One Show reporter Dominic Littlewood and professional snooker player Willie Thorne.

England cricketer Mark Ramprakash won last year’s competition, with dance partner Karen Hardy. The show will once again be presented by Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly.
