Having grown up in the shadow of her famous pop star brother (former Westlife member, Brian McFadden), Susan entered the competition determined to be recognised as a talent in her own right. As she starts rehearsals for the role of Sandy in the West End production of Grease, it is safe to say that she has surpassed even her own goals! How are you feeling? I'm tired but ecstatic. It is only just hitting me that I really have won! What was going through your mind as you were waiting to hear the public vote? All I could think was 'Michelle, Michelle, Michelle' It took me a few seconds to realise that Zoe Ball had called my name! It's like all my Christmases, birthdays and Easters in one! Is the pressure off now that you've won? It's definitely less nerve-wracking rehearsing for the West End show as we've got more time to rehearse and there's no public vote! But there's still some pressure as I don't want to let down the people who voted for me! You were worried about always being seen as Brian's sister. How does it feel to be getting your name in lights? It's amazing! Lots of people assume it's easy for me because of who my brother is but it just isn't like that. I might well never have made it to the West End without this show. I still can't quite believe it! I can't wait for opening night! You and Danny B started the live shows as a pair. How does it feel to have your Danny back? It is fantastic! We started the show together and we've won it together! Anthony would have been great as Danny but I have to admit I'm so thrilled that I'm playing opposite Danny B. He's 'my Danny'! Source |
