The two winners of Strictly Come Dancing will battle it out to become the champion of champions in a festive edition of the BBC show on Wednesday.
News presenter Natasha Kaplinsky and EastEnders actress Jill Halfpenny will be paired with professional dancers for the contest. Four other couples from the two series will also be taking part, including Aled Jones and Lesley Garrett. Viewers will once again be able to vote for their favourite contestants. Kaplinsky, 32, was the winner of the first series of the hit ballroom dancing show, along with dance partner Brendan Cole. Impressed The presenter of BBC One's Breakfast programme had previously said she had hung up her dancing shoes for good but was persuaded to return for the festive special. But she said she would have liked longer to practice and fully expects Halfpenny to win. Halfpenny will be accompanied by Darren Bennett, the partner who coached her to success in the second series, impressing both judges and the voting audience. Since her win, 29-year-old Halfpenny has landed the role of Roxie Hart in the West End musical Chicago. Other contestants taking part in Strictly Come Dancing are Rugby star Martin Offiah and athlete Denise Lewis. A Christmas special, Strictly Come Dancing On Ice, will air on Boxing Day with former England goalkeeper David Seaman, Liberty X's Jessica Taylor and EastEnders actress Scarlett Johnson taking part.
