Thirteen brave celebrity students have been whittled down to just two – Tara and Tricia. But in their quest to make tonight's final big show, the students have been on one heck of a ride.
They gave up their freedom, their celebrity lifestyles and even their mobile phones to be replaced with early starts, late nights and incredibly gruelling days. Each day began with a hardcore work-out session with Kevin, before moving on to vocal training with Carrie and David. But there were a few surprises along the way to break up the routine...
Olympic silver-medallist Amir Khan, Darren and Lilia from Strictly Come Dancing and dancers from the hit show Lord of the Dance all visited the Academy to spice up the early morning workouts. Top girl bands Girls Aloud and the Sugababes dropped by to give the students some hints and tips, celebrity chef John Torode treated them to a delicious Sunday lunch, Jamie Cullum performed an exclusive gig and some of the students even got to sing live with Lemar.
Along with the highs, there have been tears, and lots of them. Angellica and Tara both buckled and cried on the live shows and at one point or another, most of the students have shed a tear. But it wasn't all waterworks, there was still plenty of time for comedy capers a la Mel falling over on stage and Tim with his, er, interesting dance moves!
Many of the students experienced real personal breakthroughs. Tara started off full of nerves and ended up a fantastic performer. Shaun and Tricia both entered the Academy with great voices, but left with incredible voices and heaps more confidence. And Ray, quite possibly the most positive man in the world, found his voice and actually started Stubbs Mania!
It's been an incredible journey for all of our celebrity students. Let's not forget Rowland, Miranda and Linda who entertained us on the first nights, Scottish fave Fred, Zoe - wearing her Blue Peter badge at all times - and of course Colin, who rocked the house and crooned his way to our hearts in equal measure.
It's been a right old song and dance, and a bit of a giggle, but the most important thing is all of the money that has been raised for Comic Relief – well done guys!
