Things ain’t what they used to be on the George Melly. Days of yore when Morecambe and Wise and Only Fools and Horses used to unite the nation over Christmas. Now it’s that gloomfest EastEnders that is 1/4 with William Hill to be most watched programme on Christmas Day.

Coronation Street is 9/1, Dr Who 12/1, The Vicar of Dibley 12/1, Little Britain Abroad 20/1 and Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special 20/1.

With the delightful Emma Bunton voted off, it’s 1/2 Ramps and 7/4 Matt Dawson to win Strictly Come Dancing.

Pirates of the Caribbean is 1/3 to be top Christmas film with Harry Potter 11/4 and Monsters Inc 10/1.
