Strictly Dance Fever stars unite for surprise routine... IT was a twinkle-toed match made in heaven for fans of TV's Strictly Dance Fever.

Sadie Flower, winner of the hit BBC1 show's first series, teamed up last night for a one-off performance with Darrien Wright, who waltzed to victory in the programme's second run earlier this year.

The pair wowed a select audience at an event which marked the end of a summer dance camp which Sadie has organised at the Xscape leisure complex near Castleford.

And today the 21-year-old ballroom babe confessed she enjoyed their high-energy rock 'n' roll routine MORE than some of her appearances before millions of telly viewers.

Sadie, who comes from Methley, Leeds, told the YEP: "I didn't have time to feel nervous, there was so much going on.

"I only had an hour to rehearse with Darrien, as well, but in the end it didn't matter. "We loved it, and everyone else seemed to like it too - and that's the main thing!" More than 50 talented youngsters from across West Yorkshire have taken part in Sadie's summer camp over the last three weeks.

Yesterday's Xscape extravaganza was their chance to get a taste of showbiz life by running through rock 'n' roll and street dance routines in front of a crowd of family and friends.

Pupils were also presented with awards before Sadie and Darrien took their turn in the spotlight.

They are old pals from their early days on the dance circuit, and he made a special journey to West Yorkshire from his base in London to be a surprise guest at her big night.

Sadie said: "The kids had no idea Darrien was turning up, so it was pretty exciting when he suddenly appeared.

"They deserved a treat, though - they have all been fantastic."

Summer camp aside, the one-time mobile nail technician is still working regularly with Joseph Hall, her competition partner on last year's Strictly Dance Fever.

Darrien teamed up with Ludlow's Hollie Robertson during his successful run on the Saturday night show, hosted by Graham Norton.
