Mrs Coley Cole tells Justin all about her strapping lad.
Brendan's mother has flown all the way from New Zealand to watch her son dance. She accompanied him to the studio last night for a chat with Justin. What did Mrs Karen Coley Cole think of Brendan and Natasha's performance? "I thought Natasha was fabulous, I think she's just a wonderful dancer," she enthused. Justin could barely contain himself, desperate for Mrs Coley Cole to spill the "motherly beans" on her son. "So what was he like as a child?" he asked eagerly. "Brendan always wanted to be grown up, he never wanted to be that child," she revealed. "I will give you an example," she continued, "When he was about nine, he got an air rifle from somewhere. And to show his masculinity with this air rifle, he went outside and he shot a bird. The bird spiralled and it hit the ground, but it wasn't dead, it [spasmed] a bit. And this 'masculinity' went clean out the window, because Brendan actually cried for a day!" "This thing about being the tough guy," Justin asked, "Where does it come from?" " I don't know," she smiled in motherly fashion, "That's just his own way, I think." Brendan grinned back, recalling the rifle moment, "I was crying so much, I couldn't even see it, to shoot it again to kill it!" Laughter aside, Justin was keen to know if this show will make a difference to Brendan's professional dancing career. "It could make a difference," Brendan replied thoughtfully, adding that his "main thing has been to improve throughout the competition and make Natasha become a dancer". "Winning would be lovely - I'm a very competitive person, but we've been competing with ourselves to make it better each show and I think I'm really happy with what we've done," Brendan said.
