Take part in the Great British Dance-Off. Calling all ballroom dancers! Come dance with us and you could soon be waltzing, twirling and twisting through a masterclass with Anton Du Beke from Strictly Come Dancing. And if you knock our socks off, you'll get to star with a celebrity dance partner in Dancing in the Street on BBC One.

Picking up where Strictly Come Dancing left off, Dancing in the Street is a 90-minute ballroom extravaganza taking place in Trafalgar Square on 22 July. We're on a mission to get Britain dancing, and break a world record while we're at it. Everyone can join in on the day, but every dance needs a lead. That's where you come in.

The Great British Dance-Off

We're holding open workshops in six venues across the country. In each venue, the best dancers will be invited back for a master class with Anton Du Beke. From here, we'll choose one dancer from each location to star in Dancing in the Street.

The six dancers will be whisked off to London on 19 July to rehearse for two days with Strictly Come Dancing dance partners. They'll then be fitted by a top costume designer before performing their routine in front of the TV cameras and a live audience in Trafalgar Square.

And one of them could be you.

How to take part

If you are 16 or over and love dancing and then go to www.bbc.co.uk/newtalent to reserve your place at a workshop.

Alternatively, you can turn up at one of the location below for an open workshop slot which will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Please arrive by 10.30am to have any change of been seen – though we cannot guarantee that you will be due to the number of people expected.

It really doesn't matter how good you are, how experienced you are or what dance you do. We're looking for natural talent – we can teach you the rest. Here's where we're going to be:

Monday 26 June Belfast – Ramada Belfast

Tuesday 27 June Edinburgh – The Hub

Thursday 29 June Blackpool – Pleasure Beach

Sunday 9 July Cardiff – Cardiff International Arena

Monday 10 July Exeter – University of Exeter

Tuesday 11 July Ipswich – Corn Exchange
