Jublient Sadie Flower today savoured her triumph on TV's Strictly Dance Fever and said: "I've had the time of my life!" Leeds lass Sadie and her competition partner, Joseph Hall, waltzed off with the hit BBC1 show's £50,000 first prize after a dramatic grand final on Saturday night.

Their bid to beat the two other couples still in the contest got off to a flier when their freestyle and lindyhop routines were awarded 79 out of 80 by the programme's notoriously-tough judges.

And after the million-plus votes cast by the public were tallied up, host Graham Norton revealed the result that 19-year-old Sadie's army of fans back in the White Rose county had been praying for.

She said: "We seemed to be waiting on stage forever.

"When I heard our names, I just went into cloud cuckoo land. I still can't believe it. "What I do know, though, is that this has been a fantastic experience I'll never forget." Welcome

Sadie sent a big "thank you" to everyone in Yorkshire who voted for her - and praised her family, friends and the YEP for their support. The part-time receptionist and mobile nail technician was due to return home to a hero's welcome in Methley this afternoon.

She and Joseph, from Nottingham, also won a day behind the scenes of a West End show, an appearance on Top of the Pops and places in a touring musical production.

One of their most popular routines as the field was whittled down week by week was set to the Dirty Dancing tune I've Had The Time Of My Life. More than 80,000 hopefuls applied to take part in the competition, which was open to non-professional dancers only.

Thirty couples made it to the start of the main show in March, and only then were Sadie and Joseph paired.
