It has been reported that former Strictly Dancer and Blue Peter presenter, Gethin Jones is about to take over the lead role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

The Daily Star reports that Gethin has landed a £250,000 deal to star as Joseph when Lea Mead leaves in January.

Gethin, 30, has no singing experience but is said to have impressed producers. A source said: “He is excited about taking on the role. “It’s a big change for him. He’s certainly a good mover. Now he’s got to prove he can sing.”

Lea Mead is to go on tour in a production of Jesus Christ Superstar.
